Lorne Elliott, well known national comedy icon, brings his newly written show
“The Fixer-Upper” to the festival. This
theatrical comedy follows
Bruno MacIntyre (who wants to take charge of his own life) and his Aunt Tillie
(who doesn't think that's a very good idea). What could be better - summer in
the
Maritimes, cottage renovation, and family manipulation?
The cast includes Will McFadden, Laurel Smyth & Lorne Elliott.
The show runs Saturdays and Sundays beginning July 17 until August 15.
Back by popular demand, but new to the Gotta Go Festival, The Big Red Radio Show
presents the life and career of Loman McAulay, well known radio show host with
local radio station, CFCY, for more than 40 years.
This show presented during The Guild’s Play On Words Storytelling Festival in
March however there were many who were not able to secure tickets at that time.
The Guild is happy to present this show, in partnership with Young At
Heart Musical Theatre for Seniors, for a full summer run during the Gotta Go
Festival.
This show contains new content from its original production in March, 2010 but
maintains the same cast of Anders Balderston, Jennifer Long and Nick Whelan.
The Big Red Radio Show runs Wednesdays from July 14 to August 25.
The Gotta Go Festival presents ‘Jazz in July’ with well known jazz artist Alfie
Zappacosta who has been long considered one of the best vocal talents in Canada
and who has two Juno Awards and one American Music Award to his credit.
His smoothe Jazz sound will encapsulate the cabaret setting of The Guild
theatre for one night only, on July 19.
The Gallery@The Guild will host exhibitions throughout the summer months
including: Richard Chase (visual
artist), July 2-24; Darcy & Marcia Beck (visual artists), July 29-Aug 7; Mary
Jones (rug hooking), Aug 13-Sept 4 and a quilt show in late summer.
The details of all exhibitions will be posted on The Guild website
throughout the summer.
Admission to the gallery is free however donations towards its operation are
gratefully accepted. Gallery and
